Wessely Ophthalmoscope

Wessely was born in Berlin in 1874. He took over the professor of ophthalmology chair from Hess in 1913 in Wurzburg. He became head of the German Ophthalmology Society in 1927. Around 1910 he slightly modified the Oscar Eversbusch ophthalmoscope to produce this one.

He used a disc of 15 lenses and one opening. The convex powers were 1,2,3,4,6,10,20 and the concave powers were 1,2,3,4,6,8,10,12. He liked two lenses: one of 13 diopters and 35-mm. diameter with a handle, and the other, 20 diopters, 40-mm. and no handle.
