Eye Surgery Instrument Kit

This is an ophthalmic surgical kit from 1917. It is manufactured by V. Mueller. It contains 2 keratomes,2 knife-needles,1 iris retractor,1 spatula,1 round-tip knife, a lacrimal syringe with three irrigating tips, an assortment of suture needles, two packs of 00 cat gut ligatures (sutures) and two lid clamps. The surgical instruments are stainless steel as is the lacrimal syringe. The irrigator tips appear to be brass. The lacrimal syringe is signed “C.J.Tagliabue MFG Co. New York” The case appears to be walnut.
