Binocular loupe for near work with angled lenses

At the beginning of the 20th century eye exams were done with loupes using a strong source of light. In 1900 Dr. Em. Berger commissioned Koch in Stuttgart to make a binocular loupe.

Berger’s loupe with a head  band can be fit with lenses of 10 , 13 or 20 diopters.
