Schnabel ophthalmoscope 1885
Schnabel ophthalmoscope has an open disc with 15 lenses: concave 1-2-3-4-5-8-12 and convex 1-2-3-4-5-6-9-12 diopters.
A large concave mirror and a small tilted mirror can be inserted into a clip. A later version had a metal plate covering the exposed lenses.
This model has a plano mirror which is marked HOHL. The back of the scope is marked “Made in Austria”.
The front is labeled Alois Schwartz J. Wien.
It is in excellent condition. The case has wear but the ophthalmoscope and mirrors appear to have been rarely used.
It has the original condensing biconvex condensing lens for indirect ophthalmoscopy.
