Dating from about 1750, this monocle-style eye glass is housed in its original brass and leather case, that measures 5 3/8″ long x 3″ wide. The glass is 2 3/8″ in diameter. The mount holder for the glass is made of copper.
The case is “riveted” together with iron nails. There is some wear to the case. There are a few small “flakes” to the edges of the glass.
This was purchased in February 2002 for $282.50. Its new owners allowed these pictures to be used here.
