Silver pince-nez American Oxford

Pince-nez American Oxford style was from around 1910. It is silver but is not marked.
It has the Fits-U type of nose pads.
The lenses are about +1.50 diopters, perfect for reading for a normal 45 year old.
The frame is 10 cm across and each lens measures 4 cm.
The lenses could be changed by an optician. The right upper lens has a one mm. defect possibly during manufacturing. It is out of the line of sight.
Pince-nez means “pinch nose” in French.
Early pince-nez fitting involved a trial and error method of trying on various fits and powers until one, that seemed to be satisfactory, was found.
