Silver readers oval 1830

Silver readers oval from the beginning of the 1800s are in excellent condition.
They have the typical “crank” style bridge of the time. They also are oval in shape.
The temples are the broad sliding type, with “tear-shaped” loops on the ends.
The left temple is marked “18” near the hinge. This was the way glasses were sold in those days.
It indicates the focal length of both lenses is eighteen inches. In today’s dioptric nomenclature, this would be about the same as a +2.25 reader.
A plus two and a quarter diopter reading glass is appropriate for many people around 50 to 60 years old as well as hobbyists of any age who might want to examine such things as stamps, coins or miniature models.
This pair has a small (2 mm) manufacturing chip out of the line of sight, as shown in the photos.
