Paxton ophthalmoscope 1885
This Paxton ophthalmoscope has a disc with 10 lenses and one plano opening: convex 1-2-3-4-6-8 diopters and concave-1-2-3-4-6 diopters.
In addition there is a combination segment with 2 lenses, plus 10 and minus 10 diopters.
The instrument was offered for sale with two or three mirrors on a rotatable arm. A 5 cm. condensing lens of about 15 diopters of power was used for indirect ophthalmoscopy.
Manufactured and signed by Arnold & Sons London.
It appears to be in such excellent condition, that most likely it saw little if any use.
